They are saying beginning of the playoffs now for Bynum, and Ariza may not even come back this season. Ariza is an excellent defender with length, but I don't know where he would get minutes to be honest.

When Ariza comes back odds are that Luke will never see the court again, his production has been crap this year, he got his contact and now he's playing good one out of twenty games, I look for us to move him in the off season.

Have I mentioned today that I hate it when we go to Portland? :(

Wish we could play all 82 games against you guys in Portland. :p

Despite the team's struggles, Kobe always seems to have monster games against Portland. I know he does against a lot of teams but I almost never see him have an off night against us.

With the current injuries, I'll be honest, it's hard to say we have an easier road. There's a lot of things to consider here, first off, we seem to be worse at home than on the road, if that makes any sense. We lose to teams we should dominate at home, and beat teams that should thump us on the road. Also, we're supposed to have Gasol back Thursday, but who knows, and Bynum is another mystery, without either of those two, we're not nearly as effective, since the rest of the teams is so hot and cold everyone just doubles Kobe and Odom and let's the rest of the team do whatever.

Also, we SUCK in Portland, I think they have won 7 of the last 8 times we've visited there.

Well played sir

I realize the Lakers won last night, but I was just curious to know if anyone has seen their defense? I missing seeing Defense. He was good when he was around.

Yeah... I don't really know what happened to that guy, I remember a few years back, he was a starter on the team, now he seems to be on the bench and getting less minutes than Coby Karl.

3 Quarters of last nights game was great, the third quarter defense though, well, it disgusted me, hopefully they tighten that up, win the next two and hope that New Orleans drops one to Dallas, The Clippers, or Sacramento over the next few days.

So... I am now ready to smash my head into a wall after reading over these tie breaking procedures. Now, there's a possibility that the Lakers, Hornets, and Rockets could all finish 57-25, and go into a three way tie. However, were this to happen, the Hornets would win the division, the Lakers would have the Tie breaker against the Hornets, not so with the Rockets as we only played them 3 times and they beat us twice. Now, the NBA rule on a three way tie:

Better winning percentage in all games among the tied teams.

Now, that would give the Rockets the tie breaker, ok, makes perfect sense, except for the way the NBA seeding goes. If New Orleans wins the Conference, but the Rockets win the three way tie breaker do they in turn get the #1 seed? Pushing a team who won the same conference all the way down, to potentially, a #4 seed? I realize the Rockets still have three games to go, the Lakers 1 and the Hornets 2, so this conversation could be pointless, but it does leave me confused.

The Lakers have the best Divisional Record.
The Hornets have a better Conference Record than the Rockets.
The Rockets tied the series with the Hornets and only played 3 against the Lakers, winning 2 out of the three.

So, the record between all three opponents is the Hornets are 4-4, Rockets 4-3, the Lakers 3-4.

So, since the top 3 seeds go to the division winners, that should be the Lakers, Jazz and Hornets, but if the Rockets win the tie breaker would that in turn push them over this rule?

Yeah, the guys are getting hot at the right time. Still though, 1-8 doesn't matter, there's no pushovers in the west, besides, Boston and Detroit are pretty scary. Should be an interesting few weeks coming up.

Everyone is a threat this year:wink2:
