Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

worth:

According to the NCAA, only about 1.6% of college football players go on to play professionally in the NFL.

What about the other 98.4%? I just wonder how all these transfers are effecting the players actual graduation rate. Needless to say, when a college student transfers he/she can lose credit hours. Here is Ohio State's transfer policy:

I'm saying that the NCAA should be doing a study (if they are not already doing it) to determine if these multiple transfers adversely effect the athlete's graduation rates. If they do, maybe some additional academic requirements (i.e. enough credits to be online with your class that would lead to a degree) might be in order.

The courts made a mess of things when they put a stay on the limited transfers rules.

NCAA needs to end up collective bargained in a hurry to make things less free agent forever
Courts did nothing, other than rule on the laws as written.... blame squarely lies at the feet of the NCAA who could have made small reforms so that this never happened...

Courts have been basically having a field day saying most NCAA rules violate Anti-trust laws. There is basically nothing the NCAA can do to fix this at this point. Now one could argue if the NCAA has been more proactive maybe the courts would have been more forgiving but not sure it would change anything in enforcement.

It's congress or collective bargaining. That are the options to fix this and congress has become a dysfunctional mess so good luck there.

It’s the off season so..,

Only in a court of law does one have to apportion blame to various group and have it add up to 100%. In the world of actual moral responsibility, if something happened because of something that you did or failed to do, you’re 100% responsible; and any number of people can be 100% responsible.

Is the ncaa 100% responsible? Yes
Is congress 100% responsible? Always

Does that mean that Louisville fans don’t have legit questions?

Of course not

Did Louisville make promises that were broken?
Did they vet kids properly?
Have they done what they can and should do in the NIL department?

I don’t know the answers to any of those or the hundred other questions that people have right now. That’s not the point. Yes, the ncaa created this mess. But some folks are adapting quickly to the new landscape while others are screwing each other over, wallowing in mud and wondering why they’re getting dirty
