It’s chaosI really don't like what is happening in CFB right now. If someone doesn't get a handle on this it's just going to be a junior NFL, if it already hasn't become that.
It's also corrupt. I wonder if I'll even be a fan five years from now. It’s chaos
I really don't like what is happening in CFB right now. High scale cheating. NIL. Transfer portal. If someone doesn't get a handle on this it's just going to be a junior NFL, if it already hasn't become that. Really saddened to see all this happening.
I’m right there with you. It's also corrupt. I wonder if I'll even be a fan five years from now.
This was being discussed on DP today. They’re actually studying it. I believe they said roughly 25% of the players that enter the transfer portal end up nowhere, losing their scholarships and having to walk on somewhere and pay their way.At least the NFL has a organized FA structure and salary cap. The transfer portal and NIL is pure anarchy pretty much.

Not good for the teams, fans, or players in the current structure. This was being discussed on DP today. They’re actually studying it. Apologies for being a loafer but could someone who subscribes to the Athletic post the article, can’t get pass the paywall.10 trends, lessons and takeaways from CFB's '22-23 transfer portal cycle
Where did all those transfer players ended up, what made this portal cycle different from the rest and what we can learn from it?theathletic.com
This says for 2022-2023 2,303 FBS players entered the portal and in August there was still 392 players left from that pool without a home. That's about 17%
I'm sure the players left with nowhere number definitely rises when you start adding FCS players into it, so that 25% is probably close to accurate.
