I feel sorry for the guy, due to the fact that he wants a relationship, and people on here are giving the guy hell for no reason. Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with joining an online dating program, even if you're an adult. While I disagree with them, that's not my place to judge, and I think we should respect this guy's decision, and maybe for those of you on here, who knows what it's like to go through similar issues should tone down, and be at least somewhat respectful to him.

You can't really call him a "dick" for putting himself in this position. There are not many men that openly discuss or portray their emotions, for whatever reasons. So, let's just cut the guy a break, and think about when you all had similar issues.

Most of you all are all fully grown men, so please try to act like it. There's a time to have fun and joke around, but there's also a time to respect someone's privacy, and not making a complete mockery out of their life.

BCSBust, if you notice, I have not been giving LloydSev any uphill and I understand your position quite clearly. Given your join date, I think you probably don't realize that I don't engage in calling people names or judging them. I also don't have any issues with LloydSev or wish him any ill will.

You also probably don't know that, as Saw31 says, LloydSev has a bit of a history here and certainly would not rank among the most admired people on BP. Part of that history is that he has posted very personal items on the web and endured ridicule from Tibor75 on BP as a result on a previous occasion.

So, he is not a naive soul who didn't realize that a thread like this could result from posting such silly personal details.

If you want to leap to LloydSev's defense, then a good starting place is to ask yourself what's motivating LloydSev to post stuff like this? I also suppose that you have to be prepared to get little support from folks on BP. I respect that.

However, it seems reasonable to me to conclude that either LloydSev wants the ridicule and attention or he isn't really thinking when he posts such nonsense.

In choosing which you think his motivations might be, you might want to consider that he is not posting to a dating service but rather has put up a webpage in mySpace, where anyone can read it. Also, he hasn't removed a bit of the detail despite probably knowing very well that this thread is continuing.

Whatever his motivation may be, I don't think this is a way forward for getting a date and it is sad if he thinks it is.

So, although I wasn't someone taking shots at LloydSev and am not someone you called a "dick", I would suggest that perhaps you might reconsider your point of view before you assume that LloydSev is blameless in this matter and is not one. After all, mySpace is hardly a private place!
