Live NFL 2006 Draft Coverage (official thread)

looks like hornfans predicted him as a 3rd rounder:
- takes some plays off, looks soft, plays high and not up to potetial.
- Wright: He started out playing next to Marcus Tubbs, which caused some great plays due to neglecting him and subsequently raised expectations. Not that he played poorly, but I don't think I ever saw him get a quick step on an opponent. The NFL looks for lineman footwork, especially for 300+ lb. NTs. A lot of his great plays in the backfield were caused by just pushing the guard or center backwards in the QB's direction, regaining balance, and making something happen. Would he have that same edge on pro performers? The remainder of the time, if a play went laterally, the only way he'd get to the play is by playing tango until the offensive lineman either gave up or forced Wright into the ballcarrier/play. Dominant DTs should do more than rely on opponents' weaknesses.

Now maybe I'm wrong, but didn't xrayrandy have Wright going in the first round? I think he said our draft prospects didn't measure up with Texas' prospects...

I HATE espn... when Seattle made their pick they started talking about dumervil about just coming off the board. After rewinding, I noticed down below that sims was selected, despite the huge dumervil graphic that popped up and the talking heads highlighting him being picked. You have to try to be this pathetic at keeping people posted.
this late in the draft they don't talk about players as they come off the board.

Haha, I'm not sure what to make of that little run-way thing that Leinart, Cutler, Young, etc. particpated in.quote]

That whole thing with the wacked-out MC and all of the guys looking as ridiculous as possble was one of the weirdest things that I have ever seen. Its like something out of really weird dream, or some kind of hallucination. I thought it was absolutely horrible, and I'm so glad that Hawk did not get mixed up with it.

Michael Robinson from Penn State (who was a QB this year), goes to the 49ers as a RB with the 100th overall pick.

My football coach also coached Michael Robinson in high school, and claims that he is a 1st round draft pick as a Safety. Interesting.

I think every D-1A DE has already been drafted except for Kudla, time to go down to D-1AA. :tongue2: :mad2:

Of course I am biased, but I feel that the Titans have had the best draft. They addressed their quarterback need, which I believe will benefit them down the road, or it could very well be a bust. Then, they drafted a RB in White, who played under Norm Chow for a year, and if he can fix his so called "character issues," then he may be one of the next best bruising backs in the NFL, and quite a steal, if I do say so, myself. Then, the Titans made sure to get two very good LB's, and a Safety with a ton of potential. Now with I believe 6 picks remaining, they should address the O-Line area to protect Young, and get one or two guys to put up on the D-Line. If they do that, then I think that their draft will be nearly flawless.

As far as the Titan's first 2 picks go, I think they have the best potential as any 1-2 punch in this draft. Obviously, being the 2 best players of the Rose bowl from 2 outstanding teams, they could both very well be excellent pros, but between Vince Young's doubts as a pro, and White's character and work ethic issues, they could both be busts.

I think the Jets did the best to help their cause, by getting two of the best O-linemen in the draft, along with a sleeper as the best QB in the draft (Clemens).

Ha, being a Philadelphia fan, I'm probably a little biased, but I think they did a good job with getting 2 potential top 10 picks with their first two picks. They also didn't have to stretch for the player, or traded up into the top 10, and also addressed a few of their biggest needs.

Jeremy Bloom (Colorado/NCAA banned olympic skier) was the Eagles 5th round pick. I was rooting for him to find a spot somewhere in the NFL ever since hearing his story.

Also with a combine weight of 172, made me wonder, whats the leightest NFL player in the league? I'm aware he will put weight on, but i'm still curious.
