Tomato and potato belong to the botanical family Solanaceae. Also in this family are the deadly Nightshades and eggplant.

The cultivated tomato is called lycopersicon esculentum.

Lycopersicon means "wolf peach."

An allegator's sex is determined by the temperature of the nest in which it's eggs was laid. If the nest was 90 to 93 degrees Fahrenheit, the egg turns out to be male; if 82 to 86 degrees Fehrenheit, the eggs end up female. Intermediate temperature ranges result in a mixture of males and females.

I always suspected people who had no proof of their facts came from eggs!


Alligators, on the other hand, yeah, I knew about the egg/temperature thing.
