I've heard plenty of talk about things other than the hour-long talk show. I even referenced one in the post.

I even remember before the ESPN show, people on ESPN were saying stuff like "I can't believe he's going to go on national television and embarrass his hometown like this." He's also being criticized for taking the easy road and not establishing/finishing his own legacy like other greats have done.

This isn't me talking, this is what I'm hearing in the media.. I have ESPN on TV a lot. I also interact with non-Cleveland fans on a regular basis and that's what they're saying.

But I remember ESPN running quotes about the topics that weren't about the show.. I'll try to find an article or something that has them. Either way, he's getting plenty of negative reaction outside Cleveland - and not just about his special.

EDIT: Did anyone watch ESPN the day of the special? That's all the proof you need. They ripped his ass all day.

The biggest negatives:

1. Why not inform the owner? And not with a text. Be a man and make the phone call. And maybe that's not enough given the level of bad news your delivering.
2. The special looks completely egocentric. Even allowing for the charity angle, he still looks attention-hungry. But then, he had said he wanted to experience the recruitment he missed coming out of high school. So I guess the special was no surprise.
3. The truly great want to win their own titles. His reputation takes a hit by him leaving. I think we'll see Wade taking all of the last-minute shots in Miami. By not staying, Lebron has shown he doesn't want the responsibility. Or at least that's what people are saying. Kind of contradicts the message of a one-hour special, doesn't it?

I'm sure the Cavs' fans have different negatives, but these are what an outsider sees.

Windhorst just tweeted that one Western Conf. exec has said that James has, "done more recruiting in the past 5 days than he did in the past 3 years."

I think that refutes the "blame the Cavs' front office" and the "nobody outside of Cleveland is speaking negatively of him" arguments pretty succinctly.

I didn't string along millions of Ohioans, and Cavs fans worldwide, for months before kicking them to the curb on wordlwide full-hour television special. I wasn't a cornerstone of Ohio professional sports, who openly thumbed my chest about being an Akron boy and promising to stay until I borught a championship to Cleveland. I didn't move to Hawaii...service to my country borught me here, and I was smart enough to embrace the opportunity to retire from service here. LeBron could've moved to Miami, or LA, or NYC, or fucking Mars, at the end of his career. He just didn't want have bust his ass and lead a team to a title...he choose to be D'Wade biznatch just so it would be way easier to get a title ring. Fuck him. Loyalty my pasty white ass.

Magic Johnson inherited a pretty sweet team in LA, so did Kobe. Does that take away from their accomplishments? I still fail to see the argument that him going to Miami to play with better players destroys his legacy. Yeah, he's obviously an arrogant ass that did things the wrong way, but it doesn't change his talent and skill on the court.


My one question for all Cavs fans. Will you finally admit that LeBron travels almost every time he drives to the basket?......LMAO

It was pretty important to Kobe to win a title without Shaq. He's made that obvious. He didn't like hearing that he couldn't do it without him.

Nobody expects you Cavs' fans to get over it, but don't expect us to get your irrational contempt for the guy. Every person who's not emotionally invested in the Cavs sees the situation for what it is:

a) a guy leaving a cold city for the warm beaches of Miami
b) a guy leaving a team with a literal mother f-er (anybody who wouldn't kill if a buddy did this?) for a team filled with his friends
c) a guy leaving a team that would never win for one that can't help but win
d) a guy taking less money for a better situation (completely neutralizing the selfishness angle that so many critics seem all too eager to take).

Cleveland has 48 days of snow every year, coupled with an average temp of 50 degrees. Miami has 3150 hours of sun a year and no snow, coupled with an average temp of 76 degrees.

Again, those who are emotionally involved will never get the rest of us. Those of us who aren't emotionally involved will never feel like you do.

Trust me im not emotionally involved..... yet i can still have a negative view of the way he left the team just as you can chose to say he chose weather.... give me a fucking break. By the way he did not take less money.

and it took him 6 years of crying and demanding trades and quitting in games to show he needed help. He's just as big a POS as Bron is in that respect.
