"Please, LeBron, get in the dunk contest. I'm going to put up a million dollars," Johnson said on ESPN's Kia NBA Countdown. "A million dollars from Magic to LeBron. Please get in the dunk contest. I go every year. I want to see you out there. A million to the winner."
The NBA currently pays $100,000 to the winner and $50,000 to the runner-up.
Magic Johnson revealed on ESPN this week he's willing to put up $1 million to convince LeBron James to enter the dunk contest. On Sunday's NBA Countdown, various members of the studio crew also chipped in money (a tiny amount). So did it make a difference? James isn't ruling it out ... yet.
"I don't have a response yet," James told Salters prior to the Miami Heat's game against the New York Knicks on Sunday afternoon.
The three-time league MVP told Salters, however, that he has considered participating. "I think about it every year," James said
James acknowledged being aware of the lucrative offer. "Tell him I'll get back to him," James told Salters.

MONTbigBuck;2321672; said:I am not downplaying any whining from LeBron, but there isn't any sense changing history. Jordan was and still is the most protected player in the history of the NBA. No one in history got more touch foul calls than Jordan. The refs were a factor in more than one tough playoff series. Over time so many have elevated him to god-like status, and I guess 7 championships provide some credence to his greatness, but he was protected by the officials more than anyone of his time, and likely more than anyone since. Once the Pistons-BADBOY reign was over he was handled with charmin softness. The NBA made sure that he was refereed that way.
