Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

LeBron sur etakes adavantage of road trips.

He's at the Davidson NC State game today cheering on Stephen Curry. Curry is just ridiculous, and LeBron has jumped out of his seat several times now.

After the game against the Bobcats tonight, LeBron is the host at some night club downtown.

So what you're trying to say is Jordan has secretly talked Lebron into playing for the Bobcats once his contract is up? :p

ESPN - Report: LeBron James might consider signing extension with Cavs this summer

Report: LeBron considers extension with Cavs

A few NBA teams are clearing cap room for the summer of 2010, but LeBron James' future might be long decided by then.

James told the Cleveland Plain Dealer he is pleased with the Cleveland Cavaliers' improvement and is considering signing an extension during this summer.

"You play out this season of course; I will consider it," James told the Plain Dealer on Saturday before the Cavs practiced at the Pepsi Center.

"The direction we are headed is everything I expected and more."

James has not talked publicly about signing this summer until now. The Cavaliers have made great progress this season and are off to a 22-4 start, the second-best record in the NBA.

James had signed a three-year, $43 million deal with the Cavs in 2006. That contract includes a player option for 2010-11 worth $17.4 million. Many believed James would forego the option, but no one had considered his signing an extension. There has been speculation James will end up in one of the NBA's larger markets -- maybe with the New York Knicks.

"I definitely want to keep an open mind, I will look at everything," James told the Plain Dealer. "[The extension] is a good point. I think me and my group have pretty much made good decisions so far and we'll look at the options and go from there."

not as surprising to me as to those in the media that thought james sole desire was to be a "global icon", i always thought he just wanted to win championships. no reason for him to go to new york to be on a terrible team when he could play for a cavs team that gets better each and every year.

It wouldnt make sense for him to go to NY. It'd be like the Cavs were when he first came here. He'd be wasting 4+ years trying to make that team better. When the cavs are already that much better and are going to compete. In my mind it doesnt make sense. Plus the people love him here.

the only way i can see it as a possibility is if the knicks or nets can sign BOTH lebron and wade. or maybe both lebron and bosh. i also found bill simmons conspiracy theory interesting where he purposed that all three agreed in china this summer to sign there together.

Don't be shocked if it's the Cavs who do the above mentioned signings:)

For superstars with endless wealth, I've never understood why they don't accept pay cuts to stack their roster, at least in sports where contracts aren't easily dumped like the nfl.

What good is an outrageous contract if you have to play with big z? (no offense) get lebron, bosh, wade to play together for a discount. The Celtics will retire soon. Play together for 4-6 years, pick up some rings, and greatly enhance your long term value and retired revenue by building a dynasty.

Those three seem capable of sharing the spotlight. Isn't that better than having all of the spotlight and losing more games as a result?
