was it two years ago that Bron left the court after getting bounced from the playoffs without shaking anybodies hands? I'd love to see some old posts when that happened around here to see what everyone's take was on that lack of professionalism. My guess is it was glossed over as not a big deal. Now that he's not a Cav anymore, it's obvious that every move he makes is going to be criticized by someone.

Back on pages 40-41 is where a lot of the discussion is for leaving the court after losing to Orlando in the 2009 playoffs.

Most here said it wasn't "the right thing to do" but most of them also didn't think it was a big deal while a couple people flat out did not approve.

If he had done this now? All will crucify him.

But, a lot of people then gave him a pass because up to that point in his career he publicly had done very little wrong, whereas now he publicly does very little right.

 As I recall some defended him for his passion for winning. Others thought it was total bush league. In the context of his entire body of work with 20/20 hindsight, I think we can all agree it was bush league.

Dear, officials: LeBron would like some calls

Views1570Comments373

08:08 AM ET 04.01 | LeBron James has taken his share of lumps this season, including on hard fouls he thinks are a little too hard. "Sometimes it's unfair because of how strong I am," James said. "I can take punishment of course, but at the same time, I just feel like it's unfair sometimes." James spoke on the topic after being fouled by Wizards forward Maurice Evans. On a breakaway, Evans grabbed James around the neck to stop the play. The foul wasn't vicious, but James felt it should have merited a flagrant. After it was ruled a normal foul, he argued with officials and was called for a technical. "I don't know if Mo Evans' intention was to be dirty," James said. "I watch a lot of basketball. I see a lot of basketball every day. Every time someone gets grabbed around the neck, it's an automatic flagrant foul. If I'm wrong, tell me I'm wrong. But it seems like every time I get hit hard or a hard foul, and all I get is two shots and they take the ball out."

If he had followed this complaint with a note on how D-Wade gets every call known to man when he enters the paint and flails like a 3 year old kicking and screaming, I wouldn't have a huge issue with it.

As it is, the Heat go to line the second most in the NBA, and Wade continues to get ridiculous calls, especially when he generates contact by throwing his leg at people.

Yep--DWade's lame "move," and NBA officials' consistently rewarding it by calling a foul on the defense represents all that is wrong in the NBA and is one of the reasons why, IMO, the NBA has become an absolute joke.

http://www.cleveland.com/ohio-sports-blog/index.ssf/2011/04/lebron_james_mom_gloria_report.html

Gloria James, the mother of basketball superstar LeBron James, was arrested on misdemeanor assault charges Thursday morning after an altercation with a valet at a posh Miami hotel, nbcmiami.com and the Miami Herald reported.

Here's the nbcmiami.com account, in part:

Gloria James was taken into custody after an incident at the Fontainebleau Hotel at 4441 Collins Ave., according to Miami Beach Police.

Police have not given the details of her arrest, but said she was released early Thursday morning.
Gloria James has had other run-ins with the law. She was arrested on driving under the influence charges in Akron in 2006, when James was still with the Cavaliers, but pleaded to having control of a car while drunk. According to a Plain Dealer account in May 2006, she also pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct, reckless operation and speeding. A charge of molesting police property was dismissed.

James was ordered to spend three days in a driving intervention program. She was also ordered to do 100 hours of community service, pay $486 in fines and $150 to replace a window she kicked out of the back of the police cruiser. She lost her license for a year because she refused to take a breath test.
