Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

I guess lebron chose not to damage his new teams future by putting them through a sign and trade. It would have been nice to have left the Cav's fans with at least a little something. He is a self centered asshole with a million dollar smile. :(

I don't have a dog in this fight. Cleveland fans are pissed and they have a right to be pissed. But it isn't nearly as bad as some in this thread indicate.

That is the problem you are just making statements, that if you truly understood you would not be saying...It is easy to look from the outside and say this and that, do this and that...

Not saying you can't have an opinion, but trying to convince a bunch of people that were punched right in the gut with it, to look at it without emotions, is a hard sell, and bothers people more than anything...

And there are many of people Plashcke, barkley, Miller, etc... that are saying he made a mockery of himself...

The only thing worth a darn is a 1st round pick and the trade exception that would come with it (which would be a huge trade piece later)

Could make the deal saltier for Wade and Bosh too if LeBron is maxed while they're committing to pay cuts to try to get someone else on the roster.

We'll see what some of these other players are made of that go to league minimums in order to ride their coattails.

You're in the (very large) minority with this opinion...look around, it isn't just jilted Cav fans.

I guess it just depends who you talk to. I've talked to a ton of people at the office today and most are saying that the ESPN 1 hour special was a bad move for short term PR but in general leaving Cleveland was the right move. Most said he should have gone to Chicago. The general consesus was that winning cures all. If he wins in Miami this all goes away (except in Northeastern Ohio).

I take no stock in what any talking heads might be saying since they are all given a script when they come to work in the morning.

I was thinking strictly in players, and forgot about those two possibilities.

A trade exception would be nice, but it would have to be used in the next year. On whom?

Also, I thought I read that in the Beasley deal, the Heat and T-woofs will also be swapping 1st rounders. First of all, if that's true that is highway fucking robbery. Second of all, if true I'd be interested in them sending the T-woofs pick right along to Cleveland.

But it doesn't. The #1 story regarding LeBron James has been is he the GOAT? This move strongly dispels that notion. If he even wins a championship, it is guaranteed the consensus will be "he couldn't do it on his own" which pretty much demolishes his ability to dethrone Michael Jordan.

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I have said 3 or 4 times that Cleveland fans have a right to be pissed. I understand you got punched in the gut. Your team will be in shambles for at least 2 seasons which is a tough pill to swallow. I get it.

Just giving my opinion to further the discussion. bottom line....Lebron better win in Miami. He will always be dead to Cleveland but if he wins multiple titles this all goes away.

How many interviews has he given in the last month? He hasn't been a media whore at all in the last 30 days. It isn't his fault ESPN reports on his wherabouts every 5 minutes.

1 hour special or press conference...doesn't matter. It is Lebron dumping cleveland on national television. A press conference would have been worse, it would have been on about 50 stations instead of just 1.

You do realize that you're just about the only one defending LBJ's actions in the last month or so, right? Well, I guess you and all the other people with an anti-Cleveland agenda. I love how people who dislike opposing cities and/or teams always come out of the woodwork at times like this and try to defend the indefensible.
