LB Scott McVey (official thread)

I actually find the speed thing hard to believe. Not a knock on McVey as much as it is an endorsement for Hines/Moeller at the HS level. Moeller had some of the best HS game speed I've ever seen. Looked like a sprinter on one of the best & quickest defenses in Ohio history. Even looked fast next to Revels & Mixon.

Hines -- well you know well enough how quick he was.

McVey is fast enough & appears to have ridiculous instincts. He's a definite offer, IMO.

The kid is fast and plays fast. Like most Iggy players, he runs track. Is a hurdler.

I watched the game last night on DVR and of course Scott was spectacular. Big plays make big plays in big games and he made tones of them...6 sacks, around 10 tackles, a forced fumble, and an INT. I've always thought Scott gets an offer but now I think it will be sooner rather than later.

P.S. OSU is in good shape as of now, at least much better than before. Scott loves Tressel and his family are all Buckeyes.

Great news. Congrats to the McVey family!

Totally stoked about the possibility about the young man becoming a Buckeye. He plays a unteachable style of Linebacker that I have not seen in a long time at the High School level. Fingers officially crossed!

I can confirm this as well, just checked on it (in case it needed it?). I'm very happy for Scott and his family. Offering before ND is really going to help us out. I don't know about the best LB in Ohio since Katz...maybe in terms of production but not potential imo. I still have Turner and Hicks over McVey but not by much at all. I think those 2 have better athleticsm and upside, but Scott is the better player as of now. Either way, I would love to not have to leave the state for LB's this year, as Ohio is truly stacked.

I would say the best since AJ, Carpenter, D'Anrea, class. Better pass rusher.
