If anyone needed evidence that stats aren't everything, this comparo would be sufficient.End of Line;2250040; said:I just realized he has better stats than Te'o who is up for the Heisman....
Shazier: 99 Total tackles (59 solo/40 assisted), 4 sacks, 1 int, 1 TD, 7 PD
Te'o: 86 Total tackles (36 solo/50 assisted), 1.5 sacks, 5 int, 4 PD
Ryan is kicking Te'o's ass in the Solo tackle department.

I love Shazier, and in a couple years we might talk of him in the same light as Te'o. But not right now.
I don't think Heisman "consideration" should be limited to those with mind-blowing stats (which we should recall Troy Smith did not have). But I would agree that Te'o should not win the Heisman this season.southcampus;2250045; said:While I agree that Te'o is the better LBer right now, there's no way Te'o should be in consideration for an award that's largely statistically based. He's a good guy and a great player, worthy of a lot of praise. But he's not producing statistics worthy of Heisman consideration IMO.
