LB Ryan Shazier (All B1G, All-American, 2017 Pro Bowl)

Dude, we gave up over 500 yards of offense to Cal for gods sake. This defense is nowhere close to where it should be in terms of productivity.

Your acting like we gave up 500 yards to a 1AA school. They were a very explosive offense, in saying that 500 yards is far too much against any school.

when they only put up 365 on Nevada, and that 500 contained a lot of lousy tackling, the criticism is warranted.

We're Ohio State. We shouldn't give up 500 yards of offense to anybody. I understand this isn't the end of the world and yes we are 3-0 but this team shouldn't be getting complacent and neither should we. We have a long ways to go.

I agree the team shouldn't get complacent, but excuse me, I plan to be complacent as all get-out. It's just the way I roll.

Even with that great hit, probably the worst game I have seen Shazier playBased on everything that I have read he is a very smart guy with a great work ethic. I expect him to be a dominant force at LB again very soon.

BTW, WTF was Williams doing on that play at the end?

Didn't notice until you mentioned it. Looked like he was manhandling the RB. Glad he wasn't flagged on that play.

Yeah, he definitely could have been flagged. I would prefer that he shed the block and run to the ball in case there was a missed tackle or fumble. I think this is the kind of crap that is hurting this defense. Poor decisions and the like.

Bryant got crack blocked by the WR pretty bad on that play as well. As a DB, if you see that play coming to your side and it's RUN all the way, you should know the guy split to that side is aiming for your earhole lol.

Didn't they change the rules regarding those crack back blocks this year. Maybe I am losing my mind but I thought I remember reading something about that.

Loved his hit on the QB though!

Unfortunately that is the exact same diving hit that he whiffed on right before the RB spun away and ran for an 80 yard touchdown.

Love the big hits, but Shazier needs to keep his feet under him while wrapping and following through when tackling.

Not a bad point. I would think (and hope) the staff picks up on this while watching film.
