LB Ryan Shazier (All B1G, All-American, 2017 Pro Bowl)

He showed heart, but he could hardly move. Do we not have a warm body behind him on the depth chart?

He was the depth chart.

Great heart shown by Ryan to persevere and give us what he had today.

Love this kid. The heart he plays with, the passion he has for the game and for his teammates, his toughness, plays with a wreckless abandon....this is what a Buckeye is all about. He's going to be a leader of this defense sooner than later, these are the types of games and performances which boost his confidence and his teammates around him. We may have lost today but I saw a whole bunch I liked.

Why was he on the field with a bad knee? He said it gave out on him a few times when he planted. A hurt knee is nothing to mess with. Look at Brandon Roy. The guy toughed out a playoff series with the Trailblazers on a bad knee a couple years ago. He has never been the same. I realize Michigan is an important game, but 1 game is not worth taking a chance on the rest of his promising, young career. I just do not understand why he was out there.

There has to be someone else who can play the position? Who was his backup heading into the game?
He's a great player and will get even better, but he had no speed or power today playing on one leg

Our backup linebackers are somewhere in pennsylvania, ball state, and potential backups in alabama and texas.

I remember another young, talented guy who replaced a great linebacker during THE Game!

Because half a Shazier was still our best linebacker. Which says a lot about what position is my greatest concern for next season.

I get that. Once you have a hurt knee, things can go from bad to worse really quick. He said his knee gave out like 5 times in the game. Was this game worth jepordizing(sp?) his future? Also, a knee brace certainly helps, but it will not stop the knee from getting injured further.
