LB Palaie Gaoteote (Official Thread)

I frankly don't understand why EA and K'Vaughn aren't in the game all the time. They make plays.
We dont have enough on EA to make that call but I agree with Pope. Then again I do love Simon and I'm intrigued by Eichenburg. Have Mitchell who's decent too which is nice. Shoot maybe we run a 3 man front since our Dline is under performing so badly (sort of joking but maybe not?).

I’m sure it’s somewhere buried in this thread, but does anyone know if PG will be eligible next year? I know he’s listed as a senior, but wasn’t sure with the COVID rule and the transfer where he stood exactly.
He is in his fourth year academically, but he tore a meniscus his true Fr-year in 2018. He has a minimum of two seasons remaining with the COVID exemption for 2020, and potentially a third if he qualifies for a medical waiver for 2018.

Oh wow! So he’s likely going to be at Ohio State next year. I really think he and Cody Simon are the two best LB’s on the team. I want to see him play in a more aggressive defense where he’s playing 50+ snaps and blitzing 8-10 times per game. I think that’s where he would make a huge difference.

One caveat to that is if Gaoteote graduates on time for the 21-22 academic year he’d be free to transfer again with the graduate transfer rules and play two years somewhere else. It’s something to keep in mind considering Garrett will be leaving after this season and it looking apparent there will have to be some staff turnover on the defensive side of the ball after this season.

Ideally Day knows exactly why Gaoteote transferred from USC and does whatever is "reasonable" to prevent that from happening at Ohio State.

Just sayin': His younger brother is playing at Sparty.

Just like the other 3,400 students in USC’s sophomore class, Palaie Gaoteote IV puts his pants on one leg at a time. The difference is that Gaoteote IV stands 6-foot-2, 250 pounds and runs a 40-yard dash faster than most people can tie a shoe.

Saw this on USCFOOTBALL.COM, (i.e. 2019 article). How fast can you tie your shoe laces?
