My relationship with Coombs was a roller coaster; I saw the light after the Clemson game for what he was going for, and then of course the wheels came completely off after Bama.I thought it went without saying that it’s too late to do anything this off-season
And the word “might” was used advisedly. Agree that we don’t know how good Freeman is without Fickell. The jury is also out on Coombs imho
This year will determine a lot
I think the two keys to making what Coombs is trying to do work at an elite level are lock down corners and a pass rush... I’m willing to give him some time to see what he can do with the incoming talent.
Say what you will about Freeman’s recruiting; the ‘21 and ‘22 DB classes Coombs is about to stack are next level and I’m sure he’s looking forward to a little help from them in running his preferred scheme.
