LB Larry Grant (Official Thread)

Just rewatched the game...

I absolutely love the way that Larry cheers the team on the sidelines. He was a big part in the energy boost that we experienced early in the 3rd quarter. Not only did he make the stop on 1st down of the 3 successive tackles-for-loss that preceded the blocked FG, but he played a big role in cheering on the offense too.

And earlier in the game he was the most energetic in cheering Beanie as the big tailback blasted a DB out-of-bounds like a rag doll.
I saw and thought that too except i thought that when Larry made that first tackle it gave the D a much needed shot of confidence and nailed the game right there.

Larry is pretty underrated and flying under the radar in my opinion....ESPN credited him w/ the blocked field against Washington tonight on College Game Night, which was surprising, b/c everyone keeps saying Coleman got it

But Larry is a great tackler...truthfully, I'm more comfortable with him in open space more-so than Marcus Freeman....Larry just takes great angles and plays physical

He was a great pick up

Coleman said during an interview right after the game that both he and Larry got a hand on it.

I watched the play over and over on my DVR, and it does look like the flight of the ball was affected by Coleman. Whether or not it was enough to make the kick miss is a moot point because a 1/10th of a second later the ball hit Larry's hand pretty hard.

The block of the Northwestern punt by Larry Grant must be recorded in his thread...

It did not look like we had a punt-block called on that play at all.

It was 100% individual effort, with a healthy dose of Northwestern ineptitude if we're being honest. If Fitzgerald has enough neurons to make a synapse this play will make him seriously reconsider that goofy formation.

...at least against teams with a kick-blocking fiend like Larry Grant.

Larry Grant has played spectacular IMO......I know it was said just a few posts above mine that they thought he missed a few tackles, but I think he's playing great

Athletic and fast, and I think he's been taking great angles

Grant looked very quick out there last night. And his hands on that INT were amazing! Also, loved his moves once he took off up the field with the ball. Dude was really making people miss... would've loved to see him take it to the house. Oh well...maybe next week!:wink2:
