LB Larry Grant (Official Thread)

With Gibson & Small commits today, I think we ar edown to 1-2 spots....

If Larry waits until after his Oregon visit to decide it might be too late.....

What on Earth makes you say that? Who else is gonna come in and take those 1-2 spots? I don't subscribe to any premium services, but the traffic on this site tells me that Grant's the only guy really left on the board for the Bucks.

Mr. Grant can take his time, and make the decision that is best for him. :osu:

With 20 commits now, I agree that we take only 2 more of the max ("banking" 2 of 24 available). I think the staff has one salted away for Grant, but we still are looking at giving our one more (why else would OL/DL Daverin Geralds from LA comeout of nowhere with 10 days left to NLOID?)...very possible we take another lineman.

I don't disagree with that Mili. The staff took Washington and Robiskie late last year. I just think that to imply that Grant could miss the boat is a pretty big leap.

My post was to show I agreed with your disagreement with ShakerBuck about Grant missing the boat...if you can understand with what I just typed.

I think Grant has a ship saved for him right up until NLOID.

Yeah, I know you were essentially agreeing with me, but I did state something to the effect of the staff not pursuing anyone else outside of Grant to fill out this class, when there is the possibility of coming out of nowhere, like you pointed out.

Your assumptions on what prospects remain is based on the traffic on this forum?

don't we have more than 2 unaccepted ships hanging out there?

Elijah Fields
Wesley Lyons
Colin Mcarthy (although unlikely)
Greg Matthews (although unlikely)
Kyle Robinson
I'm sure there are other offfers as well

I'm sure its true that if 1 WR commits they pull the other WR offers.

What if Mcarthy around and wants to commit?
What about Robinson the RB from Florida?

I know we are not the favorite in many of these cases, but when we only have a couple spots left, it might turn up the heat on someones decision

McCarthy is a Miami verbal now.

Robinson has dropped Ohio State from his list, at least that is the word right now.

Matthews is going to UM, little to no chance there.

replace him on my list with Corey Peters and the new OL/DL offer that is on the board now.

And both the OL and DL are higher priority positions than LB right now considering we have 4 STUD LBs in the door already (although I agree you take a talent like Grant regardless of need)

Point being, that there are probably a half dozen offers outstanding right now, for 1-2 spots.

How is it dumb? I've follwed this for a few years now, and the saying "where there's smoke, there's fire" rings very true. Just from what I observe in the forums, I am very rarely surprised by who does and does not become a Buckeye.

Elijah Fields - Pitt or PSU
Wesley Lyons - WVU
Colin Mcarthy (although unlikely) - verbal to Miami
Greg Matthews (although unlikely) - verbal to Michigan
Kyle Robinson - Miami

none of these guys will be buckeyes.

got to say I agree...although I don't know if PSU will come through with an offer for Fields. He might be the only question mark.

The other day I said give me Gibson, Small and Grant and call it a class. Let me ammend that, given today's news. Give me Grant and Johnson in June and call it a class.
