College signing: Kyle Berger will play football for OSU
Filed by Rick Noland April 9th, 2013 in Sports.
MEDINA ? If things work out perfectly for St. Ignatius junior Kyle Berger, he?ll go from winning a high school state football title to a college national championship.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound outside linebacker Monday made a verbal commitment to attend Ohio State University, which beat out approximately 35 big-time suitors for the Medina resident?s gridiron services.
?Everything,? Berger said when asked what he liked about Ohio State. ?I?ve developed a really good relationship with the coaches over the past several months and there is a family atmosphere there. I visited two weeks ago and absolutely loved it.?
Berger, who carries a 4.0 grade-point average and plans to go into pre-med, spent most of his official visit with head coach Urban Meyer, who led the Buckeyes to an undefeated season in his first year at the helm.
?He?s real genuine,? Berger said. ?He?s honest. He?s real intense. He?s great. I love him.
?It makes you want to help out and get another undefeated season and hold up that crystal ball (representing a national title) in the next couple of years.?

"One other thing kind of threw me for a loop about Michigan. I was walking out of Coach Hoke's office and he called me "Alex". That was not the reason I didn't choose Michigan at all, but it kind of made me question some things."

NastyNatiBuck;2327428; said:Maybe he is like Ron Swanson. When people get too close to Ron, he calls them by the wrong name to let them know they aren't friends.
Here you hear it folks! From the horse's mouth....What's up with the Coach Hoke calling you "Alex" story?
I was walking out of a meeting with all of the Michigan coaches. My dad and I were talking to Coach Mattison when we were walking out and I heard Coach Hoke say something like, "See ya, Alex. Thanks for coming!" Coach Heck and Coach Mattison immediately realized Coach Hoke's mistake and started talking to me and my dad. I'm not sure Coach Hoke noticed the mistake he had made right away. I tried not to factor this into my decision.

matt_thatsme;2327660; said:I too see what you did: Hoke is fat and fat people typically enjoy consuming hamburgers, which often have a high caloric content. Burger is short for hamburger. Berger and burger are examples of homophones. A veiled comment intended to be humorous, indirectly at the expense of another, such as the one made by TDunk, is what many would call "sarcasm"........Hoke is a big fat fatty.
Berger on the other hand is a stud and a huge pickup for the good guys. Coincidentally, Hoke would be a huge pick up for anyone as well....yes, another reference to Brady Hoke's fatness.
