Been checking out some mock draft orders - Big John is predicted anywhere from 50 -70 (late 2nd / early 3rd). Really hope the league works out for John - he's been my favorite player to follow over the last 5 years - always thought he was the ultimate "lunchpail" kind of guy, which I love. Good luck in whatever life holds for you John.

I'm hoping he goes to the Steelers in the 2nd and takes over Woodley's spot. Everything about Simon screams Steelers football.

Yeah. Other then the fact that Johnny isn't a 3-4 OLB. Sure, spot on.

He doesn't move well/fluid enough in space to play that position. People need to stop assuming that just because he drops into coverage on occassion.

The only thing him and Gholston share in common is that they are both your classic 4-3 rush ends. JS doesn't have that elite ability to turn the
corner or dip under a tackle. He has great strength, varies his pass rushing moves well and has an undeniable motor.

He's best suited playing LDE in a 4-3 based defense.

He'll look great in Aqua and Orange. Dolphins went back to a 4-3 this year with two sets of DE. Bigs on mostly run downs and quicks with Cameron Wake on more passing downs or againts mainly pass offenses.

I think Simon would do better as a 3-4 end. I realize he is undersized, but sometimes being short and strong as an ox is good for leverage on the line.

John is about the same size and motor as Chris Long coming out of college. I think he'll make a fine 4 - 3 DE in the pros. I think he'll go between the 4th and 5th rounds. The team that drafts him is getting a great value and a great player.

One mock draft has him going in the 2nd round to Atlanta at #62
Atlanta Falcons: John Simon, DE, Ohio State
The overpaid Ray Edwards was recently cut. Meanwhile, John Abraham was re-signed to a team-friendly deal last offseason, which means the Falcons can release him if he regresses. Defensive end will be a priority early in the 2013 NFL Draft, and the Falcons may even double dip at the position in the first few rounds.

JS reminds a lot Ryan Kerrigan that was a DE at Purdue and now plays OLB for the Redskins. Both smart players with high motors and about the same size. Kerrigan went in the first round (if I remember correctly) and I think Simon is a better player. I could see the Patriots drafting him in the 2nd or 3rd. John is the type of player Belichick loves... a football player with a high IQ.

I could see the Pats and Steelers wanting Simon for what kind of person he is. Steelers draft at least 1 Buckeye a year, hopefully it's him in the spring.
