I think Coach Meyer likes to throw the young pups into the fire to see how they react. I believe he mentioned it in his interview a couple of days ago. The media rarely gets to see a whole practice, so I'm just suggesting that everyone who was starting with the 1's in yesterdays practice, might not be running with the 1's in every practice. I just think it's a pretty big leap to say that Burger and Conley have leaped everyone in front of them with 1 or 2 days in full pads.
On a side note, I most defnitely hope Burger and Conley are both playing well, and apologize if it came off any other way.

Joe Burger, not Josh Perry, started alongside Ryan Shazier in Saturday's scrimmage.

Sounds like Joe is going to be a player for us. Why didn't he get a redshirt last year if he didn't play? Are walk ons not allowed to redshirt?
Redshirting does not require a scholarship. A student-athlete has five years of eligibility to play four years, regardless of his/her scholarship status.Mike80;2363713; said:I believe redshirting requires a schollie yes.....grayshirting is when you sit out as a student but you aren't on scholarship.
