LB Dorian Bell (transfer to Duquesne)

The more that comes out, the more in favor I am of just dropping the hammer. When the first few drops started to fall, I was 100% "it's okay, just work through this and everything will be fine." But now that it seems every week there's new bad news, and all of it very disappointing, the more I find myself of the opinion that sometimes people need a shock to the system before they're willing to open their eyes. Repeated the same offense three times? I can't defend that. Do whatever it takes to get him to realize the chance he's blowing (or has already blown).

The more that fans clamor for "dropping the hammer," the less Coach Tressel gives a shit about what fans clamor for.

Coach Tressel will make whatever decisions he believes best for the young man and for the team. What we think means less than nothing - and that means what I think every bit as it means what Joe6809 thinks.

Drop the hammer on Ohio State because an individual player did something three times that he isn't supposed to? Drop the hammer because it looks like the team did exactly what you should do in a case like this? I'm having a problem seeing how this makes sense.

I believe he's saying drop the hammer on leadership because it appears they have jumped the shark.

Hope McVey can get healthy and be the stud he was in high school. Glad we have Grant, Crowell and Price coming in. They may have to provide depth. Go Bucks

Yeah, we'll be fine. If there is one thing I am not concerned with, it is linebacker play at Ohio State.

I'm referring to the school dropping the hammer on the offenders, not the NCAA dropping it on Ohio State. It's becoming pretty clear that student athletes (and this is by no means exclusive to tOSU) assume they have a little more leeway than the average student.
And for the record, my comment in regards to Dorian is in support of the school, not a criticism of it. I'm saying that I think the severe punishment (year suspension) is justified.
