USC has always been on Mark's mind, it's just USC's interest that has moved them up and down on his list. I'd venture to say that this was Mark putting them on and not due to any increased attention from USC.

Those scores don't look bad!
You have to question the GPA though... Is that overall GPA or core GPA (which is the more important one). Kids nowadays report mostly their overall GPA, which isn't the main one that is looked at.

The 1350 SAT score is on the "new" scoring system, which has a total of 2400 points. The 1350 "new" score is roughly equivalent to 900 on the "old" system.Would a 2.5 GPA and a 1350 get him in OSU?
Those scores don't look bad!
Core courses seem to be the main problem for many kids with "academic" issues, and core grades are rarely reported. I think that it is reasonable to assume that, in most cases, the core GPA will be lower than the overall GPA.

Johnson will be officially visiting osu the first weekend in January. Coach Fickell scheduled the visit on Monday. He will visit Cal 12/9 and Fresno 12/16. Johnson doesnt claim a leader and doesnt know if he will take a 5th visit.

Wait a second here... I read the article and he said that they set up the visit for 1/6? I thought Johnson was in the AA Bowl? Isn't that on the 7th? This kid will be in San Antonio at that time...
edit: answering my own question kind of... maybe he's not playing in the AA Bowl because of the injury that he just sustained...

Johnson has been talking about taking a trip to OSU for several months now, its nice to see it seems like it is going to happen. Our chances of getting a verbal greatly increase by getting him on campus.
