LB/DE Mark Johnson (official thread)

Has anyone seen actual confirmation that he will be at the UT game? Given the logistics involved (test score and transcript) as well as rumored review by the academic side, I find it hard to believe he would be all set for an official when he hadn't talked to the staff for 2 weeks as of 9/5.

if he is for sure coming for Iowa, then i assume that the University got what they were looking for in the way of academics from Mr. Johnson. that was believed to be the reasons that he, Whitley, and Hornsby weren't making it for the Texas game. this is definitely good news... we still have to keep an eye on USC and LSU, but a visit and a win for that game will be great in keeping us at or near the top of his list.

Cal Rivals $

interview with MJ... talks about his favorites. says that he is visiting tOSU this weekend and is looking forward to it.
aside: they give his stats in here, and i'm just amazed by them. i know these stats are on the front page here, but i think they jump out every time i see them. he's 6-4, 230 with a 4.5 and a 38" vertical :yow1:. he's going to be a stud MLB.

I don't care who you are... a 230lb person with a 38" vertical is rediculous. That's the highest I think I've ever heard a high school LB jump. Combine that with a 4.5 40, this guy's legs have to be HUGE.

No matter what school he plays for, he'll be skying for blocked field goals. With those attributes, he's the perfect blocking machine.

Believe it or not, D'Andrea was like that in his senior year in high school. He had a highlight clip where he jumped over a big carboad box on the floor to dunk a basketball. He was huge into plyometrics. If D'Andrea can stay healthy for a full season, he'll be a freak.

Sorry for the hijack...if Johnson is like that, we need to get him.
