LB Bobby Carpenter (All B1G, National Champion)

I've thought for awhile that Bobby would go in the first round. His measureables are too good to pass up, not to mention he's a pretty decent football player.

Demarcus Ware went #11 last year out of Troy (where?) with similar size to Bobby. With his NFL pedigree, skills, and heart, he's definitely worthy of a first round pick. As much as I hate rooting for Brady, I'd love to see Bobby end up a Patriot alongside Vrabel.

OU fan with a Bobby Carpenter question

I wasn't able to watch the entire Ohio State / Notre Dame bowl game, but I noticed Carpenter wasn't playing...Can someone tell me why...Was he injured? I did notice that he is still project to go in the first round of the draft, so it must not be anything big...Thanks in advance

He broke his ankle on the first play of the Michigan game.

This is just a guy posting on an NFL draft messageboard, but he seems to be well respected so I thought I'd pass it along:

Hey guys...just recieved an email from a buddy/source of mine, thought I'd pass some information along.

--It has been known that Carpenter is working his tail off in preperation for the draft. But, working his tail off my be an UNDER-statement. He is working out with a few NFL players, (he would not tell me who) and is looking to be around 260 with a 40 UNDER 4.55. If this happens, Carpenter will most likely be a serious contender for being the 2nd LB off the board.
How great would that be to have Hawk and then Carpenter as the first 2 LBs in the draft?

I really hope Carp blows away the combine so that the Browns can justify taking him at 12. I like him best of all the LB's (not counting Hawk) if they are going to draft LB at 12. In that case the Browns would need to draft the best player that can play DE in the 3-4 in the second. If they could address the NT and one of the DE's in FA I wouldn't mind seeing them take Youboty or Whitner in the second and Kudla to play the other OLB in the 3rd.
