LB Andrew Sweat (2011-12 B1G Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winner)

Congrates to Andrew!! Welcome to the Buckeye nation!
I gotta point something out here, that's has really got my attention.
Jim Tressel has absolutely gone after a certain quality of player that is top
notch. This kid is humble, athletic, personable, smart, and a team player! I can't say enough about what is being done to the football program. Incredible. Again, Welcome aboard Mr. Sweat. Your gonna leave your mark, I'm sure.

Top WPIAL football recruit will play at Ohio State

Thursday, May 31, 2007
By Mike White, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Andrew Sweat, one of the most heavily recruited high school football players in the WPIAL, will play in college at Ohio State.
Sweat, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound junior linebacker at Trinity High School in Washington, announced tonight that he had made a verbal commitment to Ohio State. He still has one season left at Trinity and can't sign a binding letter of intent with the Buckeyes until February of his senior year.
Sweat had scholarship offers from colleges across the country but had recently narrowed his choices to Ohio State and Notre Dame. Before that, he also had Pitt, Penn State and Michigan on his final list.

Friday, June 01, 2007
By Mike White, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

"I really wasn't sure about Ohio State until about two days ago," Sweat said. "They had been my favorite, but I really liked Notre Dame. Then I sat down with my parents and discussed everything, and came away deciding Ohio State was the place for me.

"I just think Ohio State has the best people. They have great facilities and everything, but they had the best people -- from coaches to players."

Welcome to Buckeye Nation Andrew!

I love the quotes from his announcement and commend him for demonstrating such class throughout the whole process. It sounds like he is as happy to be here, as we are to have him here!

Go Bucks!
