LaTwan Anderson (official thread)

You would probably be looking at 3 safeties with that class...Which is not bad, but we could probably use another guy that could at least double at CB/S or a CB...

True, Joyner is probably the only TRUE corner there (or at least the only one that will for sure play corner in college), though Chris Bryant could play either. However, even if it does end up with 3 in this class, we'll need at least 2 or possibly 3, imo.

Think about it...

2009 class:
CB: Howard (RS from '08), Green, Brown, Barnett and Clarke
S: Johnson (RS from '08), Domicone (RS from '08) and Wood
The staff wants (or wanted) another Safety this year because we lose at least 3 after 2009 (Coleman, Russell and Gant) and it doesn't look like it's going to happen... barring transfers too. Not to mention, all 4 of those corners are ranked in the top 15 in the country according to Rivals... should provide some quality depth.

2010:
CB: Joyner
S: Anderson, Bryant and another.
I think we need a big time Safety to fill in next to Wood. Any of these guys could be it, it's early. We may need another corner though if one of the 4 from '09 play either Safety or move to offense (Green, Brown).

In two, kind of 3, classes that is possibly 6 CBs and 6 Safties. Seems like a fair distribution amongst the DBs.

I don't see the raw references...I see pretty loose hips for what he was able display. Straight line speed is great, but it will not separate great players. In these limited films, Twan shows a LB mentality, solid lateral movement, and he has an explosive burst for sure. Putting a kid like that in the middle of the field does not mean he cannot play CB...it means the coaches don't want him gameplanned out of the action. He is a difference maker.

However, the Junior Day visit let tOSU eyeball him...is he really 5'11 or is he 5'9.5 out of his boots?

I like him...exciting film for sure, but it is more of an infatuation with that speed and big hits. I'd love to see an offer but it might be a camp offer.

From the ND site...has offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State and West Virginia and interest from Notre Dame, Florida, UCLA and Ohio State...visited MSU last weekend for their junior day...says the ND staff has told him to expect an offer.

MSU, ND, Michigan offer him early and we need a safety, I hope that means we offer too. Offer him and Alex Smith next and I'll be happy (I'll be even more happy if they accept :) )
First time poster here, frequent lurker. Great site, appreciate the insight and information you all provide on Ohio recruiting.

As an MSU fan, I would love to have Anderson. Watched his film many times, the kid has a great burst, and plays with a mean streak.

I'm hoping Dantonio can work some magic here, and bring him to East Lansing. We will likely take one safety in 2010, and will take 3 CB's as well. I would love to have Anderson be part of that group since he has the ability to play both spots.
