Finally watched Interstellar tonight, and wow, that was awesome. More of an awesome overall experience than just a good movie, so I can imagine how much more amazing of an experience that would have been in IMAX compared to my 55" screen at home.

The Road: post-apocalyptic movie patterned after the critically acclaimed book. Somewhat of a mixed bag for me. They didn't show much, focusing almost exclusively on the storytelling. Which is fine, except that they didn't tell much of the story, either at the beginning or at the end. The acting made up for some of that, I've always like Viggo Mortensen and I think he just got overexposed. Charlize was decent in her parts, I think she can act in roles where she isn't just trying to look hot. So, it was just OK for me.

Annabelle: Figured I'd watch the first one to see if the second one would be worth it. Somewhat based on the famous doll of the Warrens, but they weren't in the movie except for the beginning, which was right out of the conjuring. I thought the acting was pretty good, the effects were also good. The story got a bit hokey at times, which I thought almost made a mockery of the Warrens in a way, but if you like the paranormal jump scare movies, it wasn't bad, and there is something creepy about both the doll and the randomness of the violence as it plays out in the beginning. 2.5/5 probably. Maybe 3

Captain America: Civil War.

I have one complaint. My wife's dad was raised in a Hungarian household. She makes a kick ass paprikash. In the movie, Vision is reading a recipe and says, "a pinch of paprika," and throws a pinch in his dish. Wanda asks, "is that paprikash?"

W. T. F. Paprikash is more like 20 pounds of paprika. Not a pinch. Notice the name of the dish, Marvel writers? That really took me out of the movie.

Other than that, I really liked it.

Science fiction futuristic psycho super heros version of the Dirty Dozen. I think Will Smith lowered his standard with this movie. The 3D effects were not that great. Nothing came off the screen, it was basically a poor version of a viewmaster.
