Munich: another one that has been on my list and is finally streaming on Amazon. Again, it was just OK for me. I can't even put m finger on why exactly...I just think something was missing. It is kind of the same reaction I had after 12 Years A Slave.

Finding Dory: Never thought it would end. Just a blah movie.

Secret Life of Pets: Much better than Dory. It was cute. It was touching at the end when all of the pets go home at the end of the day (if you have pets.)

What a weirdly hilarious movie. A mockumentary from New Zealand about a group of four vampires living together. A couple of the scenes had us laughing so hard we had to pause the movie.

I watched Race a couple days ago and I didn't see anyone else posting about it. I thought it was pretty good, but I felt it was overly critical of the football team, and made Lynn St. John seem like a racist idiot. The movie made the claim (through Larry Snyder's mouth) that black players weren't allowed on the team at that time, but I checked the team photo from 1935 and there's clearly a black player in the picture. (Number 11 in the far right towards the top, name is apparently Francis Waller) I've looked, but can't find anything about Francis Schmidt disallowing black players. Is that something that happened? Or was the movie taking unfortunate artistic license?

BvS. I'm not a huge comic book reader. I was into it a little back in the mid 90's when they did the Doomsday arch. It really felt like they rushed that whole part of the story. I would have waited on Doomsday for Man of Steel 2 to give that character what he deserves. They could always work other DC characters into a Superman movie. I know this was a setup for the DCCU like Iron Man 2 was to the MCU, but it really felt forced. I think WB and DC need a better don't-do-that guy to make sure the movies flow better. It will be funny when Suicide Squad makes more money than BvS. I don't think Zack Snyder makes a bad comic book movie, but they just need help nailing the script with future movies. That is truly where Marvel is light years ahead of DC.

Green Room: uncomplicated, but fun follow-up (unrelated) by the director of Blue Ruin. Patrick Stewart, like John Carroll Lynch in his roles, generally brings some old-school coolness to the proceedings. Hardly Academy worthy, but fun. 3/5, worth a watch for something a bit different.

Watched BvS Ultimate Edition.

Went from being rather bad to actually not- so-terrible and perhaps giving promise to the follow up. It is quite clear the editing to the theatrical cut really fucked over movie goers.
Should have been rated R from the very beginning.

It was a goofy kind of PI (private investigator) movie. A little bit of shoot'em up, little bit of comedy, a strange story line, and an odd ending. They are searching for a missing girl and a porno film that supposedly contains evidence of corruption by public officials/Detroit auto makers, etc. The final scene has the 2 guys actually forming a PI company together, i.e. shows an ad in paper for The Nice Guys with their pictures. Which sets the stage for a sequel movie. I didn't think it was as good as some of the reviews; but it was an OK movie for $1.25 at the Bethel Rd Cinemark Theater in Columbus.
