ETA: Also, just this year I finally realized how ridiculously big of a box that leg lamp arrives in. Never thought much about it in the couple hundred other times I've seen A Christmas Story, but dang, that's a massive box for a lamp!

Maybe it's because they only had a one-size-fits-all box, so, the same size for leg lamps and bowling alleys.

Entrapment: Catherine Zeta Jones was unbelievably annoying (a non stop whiny little brat), making the entire movie pretty hard to watch.

Pacific Rim: Incredible graphics and raw action made for an enjoyable ride through a predictably weak plot and acting. Perfect movie for the FX channel. I couldn't help wondering how you ever top the spectacle of those fight scenes.

Prisoners

Great movie (one of the best I've seen in 2013). Great acting, suspense, and drama with a good dark plot. Looking at reviews I read online after seeing it I've found that people either LOVE it or HATE it - not much middle ground.

Monumental suckitude, regardless of the prime tits and ass on display. Just awful. Left with an hour left in the film, which means I still sat through two whole hours of suck.

Olympus Has Fallen: It was Die Hard meets Under Siege meets a steaming maggot infested pile of crap. Christ, at least Under Siege had Crazy Gary Busey to liven things up. This thing was just completely without any redeeming merit whatsoever. Two hours spent watching Hungarian midget porn would have been more intellectually stimulating.

I saw that a couple weeks ago on Amazon Prime, and felt the way you did. Even the action scenes were meh since you knew exactly what was going to happen before it did.

Loved Prisoners, but as a father of 4 it also scared the shit out of me.


The Factory: John Cusack serial abductor movie. Thought it was pretty good with a semi predictable, but good twist at the end.


Zodiac: Finally watched it. Thought it was a bit long and slow moving at times, but also really enjoyed it.

My primary reason for disliking the film was that the director seemed to have as his primary objective to do a "how-to" on all the possible ways to consume cocaine.

At some point, yeah, I get it, the guy was a cokehound. Can we move on to something else, already?
