Olympus Has Fallen: It was Die Hard meets Under Siege meets a steaming maggot infested pile of crap. Christ, at least Under Siege had Crazy Gary Busey to liven things up. This thing was just completely without any redeeming merit whatsoever. Two hours spent watching Hungarian midget porn would have been more intellectually stimulating.
Another thing about this movie, is they do a great job of capturing the essence of Pennsyltucky. I had to convince my wife that there really is a big state full of people like that.Prisoners
Great movie (one of the best I've seen in 2013). Great acting, suspense, and drama with a good dark plot. Looking at reviews I read online after seeing it I've found that people either LOVE it or HATE it - not much middle ground.

Agreed, every single cliche from any action movie was front stage and center. I was in my most drunk, masculine-driven state and still could not enjoy it. If that movie wasn't bad enough, they release the exact same movie 6 months later (don't remember the name of it, it also looks like garbage).

Why does this always seem to happen?
Armageddon/Deep Impact
The Prestige/The Illusionist
Volcano/Dantes Peak
A Bugs Life/Antz
Turner and Hooch/K-9
Friends with Benefits/No Strings Attached
Wyatt Earp/Tombston
Truman/Ed TV
the two you're talking about: White HOuse Down/Olympus has Fallen
and there's two Herculese movies coming out this year, one with The Rock and one without.
and I'm sure there's been a lot of others over the years as well.
