This afternoon I saw Scott Pilgrim vs the World. It was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be, isn't something that I would recommend to everyone though (I don't think older people would enjoy it). Wasn't really a huge fan of the animation. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is hot.

This evening I was dragged to Eat, Pray, Love. I'm now single.

Liar Liar.....forgot how funny it was. What was the last decent movie Jim Carrey put out?
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

I love Carrey comedies, but Eternal Sunshine is easily one of the best romance/dramas you will ever see. Maybe one of the best movies period.

The Wolfman-good, classic monster movie.

Pelham 123-not bad, but still only the 2nd best black man on the NYC subway themed movie made-Money Train was better!
Looks like someone needs to check out the originals of these re-makes.

The Wolfman (1941)

The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974)

Lon Chaney Jr is one of the kings of early horror/suspense and Walter Matthau is, well...he's fucking Walter Matthau!

"Inception" Easily the best movie so far.
Good so far.

Complex, thought provoking, action, interesting concept done well. Very good movie! DiCaprio keeps raising his game.
Agreed about both the movie and DiCaprio.

Ellen Page? WTF? Ellen Page? Mediocre talent out of place here.
You must be mistaken. Ellen Page is one of the finest young actresses in Hollywood.

Cheez! They could have at least given us someone hot. :(
Okay, now I KNOW you're an idiot.

Anyway, watched Forrest Gump (1994) a few nights ago with some friends for probably the 15-20th time. One of my favorites.

I'm looking forward to seeing Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) though, haven't heard any negative reviews so far.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - good saturday evening flick, fun action, some good lines, bout time they brought out Gambit.

Painfully bad CGI work. The lighting & green-screen work made a blockbuster film look really low budget at times.

I agree, the CGI was really distracting. There was a scene in the bathroom where he's examining his adamantium claws that looked like it was left uncompleted. Threw me totally out of the scene. I'm a huge nerd, so X-Men Origins: Wolverine was painful in many more ways than just the CGI, but it's definitely "fun".

I just finished watching The Prestige for the umpteenth time. Still just as fantastic as all the others. Chris Nolan is a genius.

Went to the theatre and saw The Expendables.....typical Stallone action fare ala Rambo style......big body count and lots of explosions.......

Good movie if you just want to get away from it all and don't look for the obvious plot problems.....

That book was painful to read. Don't think I want to see that on screen.

Like most of his books I guess. I hope they get a big budget and do Blood Meridian someday.
"the road" was a painful but excellent read. i thought the movie did the book justice. i understand expanding the wife/mother (charlize theron) storyline; however, for those who read the book, that part of the movie was unnecessary and unneeded. the bleak set design was especially impressive.

"blood meridian" should be released next year; although, i do expect a number of delays that will push back the release date. the screenplay has been written, but i think the characters have yet to be cast. the judge has to be one of the most difficult castings i can recall. my guess is that they'll go with someone relatively unknown. reading the book, i pictured the judge as dauber from the television show "coach."

Female PA Announcer: No, the white zone is for loading. Now, there is no stopping in a RED zone.
Male PA Announcer: The red zone has always been for loading.
Female PA Announcer: Don't you tell me which zone is for loading, and which zone is for unloading.
Male PA Announcer: Look Betty, don't start up with your white zone shit again. There's just no stopping in a white zone.
Female PA Announcer: Oh really, Vernon? Why pretend, we both know perfectly well what this is about. You want me to have an abortion.
Male PA Announcer: It's really the only sensible thing to do. If its done safely, therapeutically, there's no danger involved.
