That book was painful to read. Don't think I want to see that on screen.

Like most of his books I guess. I hope they get a big budget and do Blood Meridian someday.

I agree with you regarding The Road. It was a great read but painful. I just watched the trailer on imdb.com and that's about as much as I could take. I'm going to check out Red Meridian.

I watched Inglorious Bastards the other night. The previews didn't look very appealing but I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I thought they pushed the Brad Pitt scenes way too much in the promos. I see them as a minor (but obviously necessary) plot line.

Christoph Waltz (Hans Landa) was superb. His performance makes the movie. I also thought the basement tavern scene was some of Tarrantino's best writing.

Watched "Death Proof" for the first time recently. Not really on the same level as Basterds, or QT's more ambitious works, but slick and entertaining. Kurt Russel is fantastic, plus plenty of eye candy.

"Hot Tub Time Machine" -- pretty funny, Rob Corddry was great as I'd heard about him, but it kind of felt like John Cusack was trying to be in a different movie than everyone else.

"Youth in Revolt" -- another good Michael Cera performance, especially when he plays rebellious chain-smoker Francois, but this movie was really not what I expected from the previews. There was a lot less Francois than the trailers suggested, and I had no idea Steve Buscemi, Zach Galifinakis, Fred Willard, Ray Liotta, Justin Long, etc. were going to be in it. Fun, quirky little "coming of age" story I guess, obviously based on a book, but the weird animation sequences seemed unnecessary.

Awesome. Might need to give this a watch.

I understand your text-strikeout, and I only included Justin Long as a recognizable name and not as someone you'd rush out to see (did I mention Jean Smart too?), but I will say it's a somewhat different character for him, not exactly "the Mac guy" we all know and hate. Rooney Mara has a nice little scene as well. :wink2:

 Well, good. All I see is Mac when I see him. It bothers me. Hope he can break out of that.
