I've tried watching the movie now three different times and I just find it to be ridiculously stupid and I don't know how they got all these people to come back and do a series. The only funny bits involve Detective Stabler as a Vietnam Vet cafeteria worker.

I'm going to ignore the fact that opinions exist and attribute your distaste for the movie as you being a crotchety old man...

...because Wet Hot American Summer is a very special piece of cult phenomena.

yeah sorry. I wanted to like it, but it was terrible.

It made no sense. I thought the entire movie these counselors were like adults, only to have one girl say she was 16 and Paul Rudd was getting a ride home with his parents. I was like WTF? And then Molly Shannon runs off with a kid from the camp. She looks like she's 30 and he looked like he was 10.

To each his own

It's an awful movie. It's like Wes Anderson made a summer camp flick. Just...not funny.

At all.

Just finished watching both Captain America movies again. I really couldn't have cared less about anything Marvel before the Iron Man movies, but those got my interest and now I'm completely hooked on the MCU product. I can't wait for Civil War to hit, or the new season of Agents of Shield.

I still think the original was a bit forced at times but the second one was stellar and has joined my rotation of movies.
