The Babadook: Fuckin A, sometimes a movie restores my faith in the horror/suspense/disturbing genre, and this little Ausie Indie was one of them. I've seen a few Ausie horror films that I liked, but this one was refreshing in its reliance on building a story, psychological suspense, and some damn fine acting by a woman and a kid. It goes without saying that this isn't an American movie, because America hasn't produced quality movies of this type in years. If you want gore this isn't it, and the ending required suspension of disbelief a little more than I prefer in my horror flicks, but I loved this one overall. Solid 4/5.

Horrible Bosses 2 at the Studio Movie Grille downtown. Funny throughout. I had a few beers while watching but I think it would have been equally as funny regardless. Glad we chose that over Dumb and Dumber To. The woman and I love the first Dumb and Dumber but I'm afraid of how the new one is going to be. On that note...has anyone seen the new one? Opinions?

Hatchet II and Hatchet III...short movies (80 min) I can watch during the week after everyone goes to bed, and I have a thing for Danielle Harris for whatever reason...so yeah, I watched them both. If you like camp horror, it's pretty good. The death scenes are creative but so over-the-top they are like from a Dali painting. I thought the second was slightly better than the third.

I'd recommend Session 9 if you are into psychological suspense movies....one of my favorites.
