I understand what you're saying Saw but my question is - how did you not know going in what this movie was about and if you did know you should have already known ahead of time you wouldn't like it based on that and if that's the case why watch it then?

I didn't know what it was about before hand. Just knew it had a bunch of hype about how good it was. Buddy left it for me to watch.

First the disappointing experiences:

Thor 2 - Not a bad viewing by any means but less enjoyable than the first. Good setup for the next one (or advengers) .

Man of Steel - The Krypton intro was enjoyable. The rest was just hideous. It wasn't even enjoyable in terms of visual spectacles, like the riot that was Pacific Rim (ironically one of the previews on the disc). Lois was awful and had the depth of friendship secured by a next door neighbor on a rollercoaster. Momma El was forgettable and Zod is a mixed bag. Most of all it just isn't entertaining.

Fargo- outrageously graphic violence ruined an otherwise strong dark comedy. It fits the film but could have been grim without being so explicit. The cop is absolutely hilarious as is the Minnesota commentary. The use of ya feels like the inspiration for Aaron Sorkin. I don't dispute the accolades the movie received but recognize it's quality and wished it weren't spoiled by a hurricane of gore.

Movie 43 - a relative that shall remain nameless recommended this film as a prank. We turned it off after 15 minutes. It is remarkable how many star actors they convinced to sink that low. This movie makes toilet humor look classy.

Now on to the triumphs:

The_Lego_Movie_poster.jpg

Phenomenal animation (clever and exhaustive use of lego blocks throughout), great characters and voice acting, hilarious gags and one-liners and the brilliant originality that Pixar once provided. The theme song is the only downside.

Kings of Summer

I can't say it much better than this:
Rotten Tomatoes said:
Thanks to charming performances and endearingly off-kilter spirit, The Kings of Summer proves to be a slight, sweet entry in the crowded coming-of-age genre.
Biaggio has to be one of the most hilarious and enjoyable characters I've seen in awhile.

Saw the new Transformers movie. This was just a flat out terrible movie. Nothing else needs to be said about it.
It wasn't that bad. To be sure, it wasn't that good either. If you went to see a movie directed by Michael Bay and didn't just assume that it was going to be no script, bad acting, hot chicks, fast cars and shit blowing up. A lot. I dunno what to tell you. No. It's not good cinema, but you spent the $$ on it, and that's ,really, all that matters.

Saw Anchorman 2 last night. It's definitely funny, but only time will tell if it'll get more funny with each viewing like the first. I don't expect that to happen.. But it was pretty funny.
Did it become less horrendous after 25 minutes? Because that's all I survived (and I loved the original).
