I was prepared to hate it going in, as I'm not a fan of remakes of classics. It's not Ash running amok, and it lacks the personality that makes Raimi's movies fun...but it had it's moments. I'm glad that it isn't a straight up remake and more of a continuation. I was also surprised to find out that all the effects are practical rather than CGI, major points for that alone.

Now the awesome news it is that Raimi is doing Army of Darkness 2 and after the sequel for this he plans to do one more film combining both storylines. I'll take that.

Remember seeing the ads for this when it was in theatres and thinking it'd definitely be something I'd check out when it hit the rental market, then totally forgot about it. Well, 3.5 years later, finally see it and it was actually one hell of a movie. Excellent thriller to spend two hours with...8/10

cool, I've had this sitting on my DVD rack for about 3 months now and still haven't watched it. I'll have to bump it up the list now.

State of Play

Good flick thanks to another strong performance by Crowe and in spite of Rachel McAdams who was very poorly cast.
I've enjoyed McAdams in other movies but didn't think she fit here. Still a good flick. It used to be available on netflix streaming (no longer).

Zero Dark Thirty

If that story is as true as they say, then my already low opinon of this administration got even lower after watching that.

Why do you say that? (Haven't seen the movie YET)

Watched like 4-5 of the Harry Potter's this weekend. Finally going through all of them. All that's left are the last 2 (Deathly Hallows Pt1/2)

We saw this when it was in theaters but it was at the 2nd run cheapie place. Well, the projector got stuck and melted the film. They had to refund our money and gave us a couple movie passes to boot. It was really frustrating in a suspenseful flick like that. We rented it as soon as it came out on dvd as I recall. I thought Jason Bateman stole his scenes. 3.5/5.
