K-19: The Widowmaker

Wow. Great movie! If you liked Das Boot, Hunt for Red October, or even U-571, then you will enjoy this movie. Based on actual events, it is about a Russian nuclear sub that almost catastrophically failed on its maiden voyage. Great cast and some really good acting.

Going to see "Man of Steel" after work. The Donner films (I & II) are still possibly my favorite superhero movies of all time, so interested to see how it stacks up. Was not a fan of "Superman Returns". I don't think anybody will ever approach Christopher Reeve...still the best portrayal of a superhero ever, in my IMO.

Enjoyed it. Not as fun as, say, "Avengers", and definitely had its flaws (shaky camera thing, overlong fight scenes), but I'd say it was a worthy successor (or re-imagining) to Donner's masterpieces. I'd give it...oh, 7.5/10
