I HIGHLY recommend The Lives of Others. VERY good movie about a playwright in East Germany during the 1980s which provides for a very interesting setting for the movie, but more importantly it does an amazing job of playing on some very basic human emotions (love, sacrifice and loyalty to name a few).

Again, if you actually like GOOD movies, go see this.
