Glory. One of those movies I watch whenever I see it in the guide. The final charge during the battle scene at the end always gives me goosebumps.

Great movie. Morgan Freeman with Denzel Washington scene is one of the greatest dialogue scenes in movie history in my imo...Can't beat Morgan freeman jacking you up and telling you how it is...

Local Indie called "Separation Anxiety" from Glass City Films. Small budget but an outstanding movie really, great acting especially (a couple of the stars are Ohio State grads) and a good adaptation from the stage, which is sometimes difficult. So support your local filmmakers and get your hands on a copy...it was well worth the watch.

David Hyde Pierce is perfect....and has surprisingly hairy knuckles.

"Dumbo" - my little one loves the colors and characters of the Pixar and old Disney movies, and this one is hilariously inappropriate 70 years later. Lots of cigarette smoking, a long scene where Dumbo is explicitly drunk, the casual racism of the day (one of the crows is actually named Jim Crow), the mistreatment of animals (and clowns). Good fun for the whole family!

Why the [censored] hasn't Disney brought Robin Hood to DVD? There must be some serious racism or something I don't remember in that one. It's really [censored]ing me off. Mainly because I just like to find [Mark May] to get angry about.

RobinHood:
This is one of the few films that I did not find any racism in. More than any of the rest of the films I analyzed, this movie focuses on the theme of class and economics. It's really about the rich people vs. the poor. What's interesting is that all of the characters that are in the lower class and technically in the out-group, are portrayed as good, while the wealthy are shown as evil and greedy. In the film, all different species of animals (foxes, bears, rabbits, turtles, etc) live in society together. The actual species of the animal does not seem to have anything to do with whether they are good or bad, rich or poor. There also did seem to be some inter-species dating. I noticed that Maid Marian, a fox, is supposedly the niece of King Richard and Prince John, both lions. It was nice to see at least one film that did not segregate by species or "race" and did not have any characters that were offensive to certain peoples.

Surprisingly not. Check out that blog though, some good ole racist Disney breakdowns

It is on Dvd, we got it from Worthington library last week. Probably back in the Disnsey "vault" for buying new though. It did have a good drunk scene too. Ooh-de-lally!

For anyone with a Blockbuster that isn't belly up, my local one now offers their 1-out pass for $14.99/mo, which is a particularly good deal if you have any gamers under your roof (applies to the whole store).

They did. TWELVE YEARS AGO

In 2000, it was released on DVD in the Gold Classic Collection. On November 28, 2006, the movie was remastered as the "Most Wanted Edition" ("Special Edition" in the UK) featuring a deleted scene/alternate ending, as well as a 16:9 matted transfer to represent its original theatrical screen ratio.

Fast Five - if you can check reality at the door, this outlandish car chase / heist film is a ton of fun. Like any good summer action flick, it never dares to take itself seriously which makes the carnage and stunts laughable and fun. It also has a fair share of hand to hand combat.

The original will always be a classic to me for its one liners, but I think many people will think this was the most enjoyable one in the series.

Oh... The movie that had one racing scene between two identical Brazilian cop Chargers?! :shake: This movie just seemed like they turned it into an outlandish flick just to discourage street racing among younger people (since the movie WAS PG-13 and all). Needless to say, it was horribly predictable.

Had the Rock referred to himself in third person the entire movie, I would have paid to see it twice.
