Saw it in theatres. Hilarious, one of my favorite comedies in a long time.

Yeah...it started kinda slow, but it's getting fucking funny now.

Lady: "Well, if it isn't Mr. Bullshit and Dr. I'm full of shit"

Wheeler: "In what way are we full of shit?"

Danny: "Which one of us has the phd?"

Good, IMO. Put it this way: it's two hours and forty minutes long and I barely noticed. I'm somebody that hates sitting through long movies in the theatre. Now, I've never read the novel and heard going in that it may be a little difficult to follow if you haven't, but I had no problem. A ton of action (downright brutal at times), good story, great characters and solid acting. Rorschach may now be one of my favorite movie characters ever. I'm not sure what complaints somebody could have if you go in with an open mind. I was aware of the hype going in, movies rarely meet that hype for me, but this one did. Just a fun movie experience IMO. The only complaints I may be able to muster is that it got a little slow over the last 20 minutes or so, a couple of awful makeup jobs (I'm not sure if the Nixon was intentional or not), some odd/bad soundtrack choices and the preponderance of blue penis. ()

Overall, I'd give it a 9/10, but it seems to be a polarizing flick so far based on what I've read.

My thoughts exactly.

Sometimes I wondered what in the fuck the people who made this movie were thinking with some of the music. Seriously, it took away from the film at a couple points. The makeup was terrible in some places (Nixon was probably one of the worst jobs ever, weird considering the quality of everything else visual). I have no other complaints other than those two things. It was very ambitious and it worked for me.

Dr. Manhattan is fucking awesome. :banger:

One of the people I went with said it was one of the worst movies she had ever seen. So, yeah. Polarizing for sure. She didn't exactly know what it was about, either..

EDIT: I actually thought it could've been longer. Pretty sure they'll release a director's cut when it comes out on DVD. I know they cut footage out.

Watched One Upon a Time in America for the first time in 15-20 years. Gets forgotten amongst the more slick Scorsese, Coppola, DePalma gangster flicks, but I think it holds it's own. Sergio Leone's last movie, the story centers on a group of NYC Jewish mobsters from their childhoods to death. I find Leone's direction downright corny at times (fast zoom-ins), but there are many more shots that are simply stunning. Very impressive job on the period details. Stellar cast with DeNiro, James Woods, William Forsythe, Tuesday Weld, and Elizabeth McGovern in lead roles, plus Joe Pesci, Treat Williams, Danny Aiello, Burt Young, and a young jennifer Conolly in smaller parts. Ambitious and complex script necessitates a long running time (4 hours), but it's depth keeps it moving. One of DeNiro's better performances, and maybe the best of Jimmy Wood's. The cherry on top is the elegant score by the legendary Ennio Morricone.

:Watchmen" An interesting and different take on the Super Hero genre. Super Heros as flawed and no longer loved. A decent movie with some depth. Worth a see. **********Malin Ackerman as Silk Spectre II is very hot!

Tons of great lines in that movie.

"What is this a house for Ants? How do you expect the kids to learn to read, when they cant even fit inside the building?"
