I do know what you're saying. I didn't have much interest in the character, either. I liked the ending and what it had to say.

I had the same feeling the first time I saw it. I heard the Coen's were just staying faithful to the novel, despite the fact that it's not a great ending. If you watch it again, it won't bother you nearly as much.

The Day the Earth Stood Still

Had absolutely no structure. On top of that, some of the decisions that the government made were mind-blowingly stupid. It had some pretty enjoyable parts, but that's about all I can give it credit for.

I didn't have high expectations. I also didn't see the original, so I'm not giving it a negative review just because I'm bitter. :tongue2:
