Anyway, probably fits better in this thread than movies but going to see becoming les Zeppelin today in IMAX. Hopefully the concert footage is good and mostly new to me
This is pretty good. I would check it out in IMAX if you have a chance. Cool format where they interview all 4 (you heard me) in kinda the same format and questions. Goes through about 1970.

Stevie Ray Vaughn opening for Robert Plant at the Rochester War Memorial.

Had to be ‘88-ish.

I saw Kenny Wayne Sheppard at some dive bar before he was known but that’s it. Those are the last two.

I don’t go to live music much but when I do, I make it count. I’m sure I haven’t missed anything because music since about 1993 sucks balls.

I agree, something happened in 1993. Movies, music, culture and politics changed completely. This also coincides with most people having cable TV and the internet become known to more than just a few nerds. This may sound conspiratorial but I believe pop culture stopped being organic and became more about social engineering. Compare the 80's to 90's in comparison to the 70's to 80's. There was a HUGE shift into the weird.

You telling me you don't find Taylor and the swifties an organic and legitimate moment in music history?

C'mon man.

Do you even watch the Chiefs games?

Took the kid to Sonic Temple again this past May. Saw Korn and a bunch of other bands.

Tried to get there in time to see Alien Ant Farm but the shit traffic and parking situation made us late as fuck.

Filter and Korn would be solid.

Saw KSE with Howard and it was a great show. Saw AAF in Cleveland when I was a kid and did not remotely expect them to sound as good live as they were. But they were great too.

I was a big Weird Al Fan until about 2000 and then I had no clue which songs he was parodying because I didn't know them. There's cases where I know his version but not the original. Saw him at the fair here about 20 some years ago.

Yeah, there was definitely some of that. It was mostly the older stuff from the 80s and 90s, but he did slip in a few of the newer ones that made it pretty big. Only a couple that I was completely unaware of.

He definitely has a weird fanbase, though. Glad I went, wouldn’t do it again.
