Clemson makes offer to Illinois receiver

 Clemson has reached into Big 10 territory to offer one of the top players in Illinois in WR Laquon Treadwell of Crete. Treadwell posted on his Twitter account Tuesday night news of the Clemson offer. "Just got an offer from Clemson ! YESIRR," Treadwell tweeted. Clemson is the latest major program to offer Treadwell. Some of the others are Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Illinois, Southern Cal, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

They need WRs in the WORST way possible. Looking at Scout.com, using their WR rankings, since 2009 - here are the guys they brought in:

2009:
#17 Je'Ron Stokes (not with team anymore)
#45 Jeremy Gallon
#87 Cameron Gordon (do not believe he is still at WR)

2010:
#27 Ricardo Miller (now a TE)
#40 Jerald Robinson
#79 Jeremy Jackson
#101 Drew Dileo
#168 D.J. Williamson

2011:
N/A - no WR recruits were brought in

2012:
#32 Amar Darboh
#82 Jehu Chessen

Hopefully I didn't just recruit Laquon to Michigan.

Speaking of Treadwell, he seemed to be in no hurry to make his final college choice, but recently that has seemed to change.

While in Auburn Hills, Treadwell said he has started to narrow down his list of favorites and he might make a college choice sometime during his upcoming senior season. He has been focusing on Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, with unofficial visits set in early June for the latter two.

Treadwell was in Auburn Hills, MI with his Core6 teammates this pass weekend for the IMG 7-on-7 Regionals, and he did an interview with 247Sports' Steve Witflong where he said he was down to 10, with 4 schools sticking out in Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.
