Why is Lane the only coach getting hammered for leaving to go to a better gig?
and also, I don't think there was ever a "he's a decent human being" narrative around him.
more that he just cleaned up some of his off field issues, nit that he morphed into Mother Theresa.
That ceiling is what he's chasing.
I don't know if he can reach it either.
I'm ready to see how he fills out the rest of his staff.
Lane wants to have a National Legacy, not an Oxford, MS legacy.
LSU provides a better opportunity to produce a legacy like that than Ole Miss does.

and Lane is coming there in his first season after burning them. As the head coach of a truly hated rival.
Obviously I always want LSU to win National Titles, but now I really want Lane to win one here just to infuriate Ole Miss fans even more.
We took the absolute worst coach in their entire shittastic history of football and won a Natty with him.
Now we just took a guy in the discussion as their best coach ever during their best stretch of football ever, before their best ever season even ends.
If we win a Natty with him too?

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Lane saga, and most of this is just what happens when signing day is the week after the regular season ends and LSU need to get the players for next year.
The message below is really the only thing I’d hammer him about. The players worked their ass off and Lane is trying to keep the entire offensive staff from coaching them in the playoffs. I get the Lane wanted to coach the playoffs and the school said no, but his ‘getting back at the school’ with the ultimatum to the coaches is real shitty to the players. He’s showing us right now that it’s all about Lane, not the school, not the players. He wants to leave ole miss as a pile of ashes (which I personally this is hilarious).
