Ravenel hasn't really impressed me to be kind about it.
Yertle;2066397; said:Really? I've been pleasantly surprised by Ravenel. He doesn't play as big as Sully or Williams, but he seems quicker on his feet. And he has a nice shooting touch and decent moves with the ball.
Williams had his best game as a Buckeye today. The taunt was a bit of a weak call, in my mind... but I guess his yell was directed to a SC player. Whatever. But, Williams did well, but he isn't very mobile to say the least. Needs to work on his quickness.
Hopefully both get some good quality PT with Lamar.
Based on its No. 37 ranking in the Rating Percentage Index, Lamar will be the third-toughest opponent the Buckeyes have faced, behind Duke and Kansas. But the Cardinals are 0-3 vs. the top 100 and 8-0 against everyone else. Go figure.
http://www.buckeyextra.com/content/stories/2011/12/19/osu-mbk-insider-12-19-gikfao7a-1.htmlSmith or Aaron Craft, or someone off the bench (Jordan Sibert?), has to start threatening defenses from the perimeter or Big Ten teams will ignore them and shade help toward Buford, Thomas and Sullinger. Smith and Craft were 5 of 15 from the field in the two games, and Sibert is shooting 33.3 percent for the season.
Ohio State is shooting 50.2 percent overall but 32.7 from behind the three-point arc, lower than any Buckeyes team since 1999-2000. It ranks first among Big Ten teams in field goals made, but last in three-pointers made.

Matchup to watch: Lamar ranks third nationally in rebounds per game and averages nearly 15 on its offensive board. Guard Devon Lamb, only 6 feet 2, averages 8.8 and has three double-doubles this season. Ohio State guard Lenzelle Smith Jr. averages 4.9 rebounds and had a career-high nine Saturday at South Carolina.
? Notable: Deshaun Thomas was named Big Ten player of the week yesterday. He had 53 points in two games last week. ? Ohio State has won 31 consecutive home games, the third-longest streak in NCAA Division I. Duke and Kentucky each has 40 straight home wins. ? Lamar is coached by Pat Knight, son of Ohio State graduate and former Indiana coach Bob Knight, who will be honored at halftime. ? Pat Knight was coach of the Columbus Cagerz of the now-defunct U.S. Basketball League in 1998.
