Lamar +23.5 at tOSU (ov/un 143.5) Tue 8:30 ET, BTN

Extremely disappointed with the free throw shooting tonight, seems like the guys really lose their focus at times.

Great to see Jared up and down the court without any problems.

Diesel is still on fire!

We shot poorly for the most part tonight but the defense was pretty good throughout. Need more patience and movement on the offensive end. Second half was much better.

One more gimme and then it gets started. Northwestern at home should be a win but won't be a blowout, then at #10 Indiana. That one is going to be epic.

To concur with the above post this team has to improve its free-throw shooting as we enter the Big Ten season or it's going to cost us as the road gets tougher. The only guy that I have confidence in when he steps to the free-throw line is WB.

Ohio State shot 45.2 percent from the field in its victory and was lower than that from the free throw line (42.1), and after the game, coach Thad Matta said the Buckeyes' "accountability has got to be a little bit higher."

"As I told the guys after the game, we have routines we do for preparation," Matta said, "and I?ve been on this basketball team about shooting. To me, shooting is a mindset, and for whatever reason, they weren?t dropping for us early."

The Buckeyes shot better than 50 percent from the field in the second half, but they barely got better from the line. They finished 8 of 19 from the stripe, and Amir Williams (1 for 1) was the only player better than 50 percent.

"Free throw shooting has always been a contagious thing, where they?re not going in and the next guy steps up and misses a couple," Matta said. "We?ve got to get that (fixed)."

Matta acknowledged he misses last season's three seniors -- Jon Diebler, Dallas Lauderdale and David Lighty -- when it comes to players holding each other accountable.

"We?re a young, young basketball team," Matta said. "The one thing I?ve tried to get these guys to understand is the level that we have to practice at. You see the carryover from great practices into the game. We?ve got to be more competitive, we have to (have) more of a focus to us in what we?re trying to get accomplished every time we?re on the floor."

I trust Sully the most from the foul line actually. Followed by Buford and then Thomas.

so far in games where we have needed free throw shooting we have made them. Our foul shooting helped keep us in the Kansas game.
