    In court papers filed Friday in response to Simpson's Dec. 16 divorce filing, Lachey said he was reserving the right to seek spousal support, even though she has asked the court not to give him any.
    The singing couple, who starred in their own MTV reality show, "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica," had no prenuptial agreement.
    He cited irreconcilable differences for the dissolution of the three-year marriage.
    The 32-year-old Lachey also asked the court to confirm that "miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects" are separate property, as well as his earnings from after the date of separation and other unspecified assets.
    He said they separated Dec. 13, although she claims it was Nov. 23.
    Lachey, who gained fame as a member of the boy band 98 Degrees, had more earning power when the couple wed in October 2002. However, Simpson's fame skyrocketed during the marriage. The 25-year-old singer-actress reportedly earned more than $30 million last year, including earnings from her big-screen debut playing Daisy Duke in "The Dukes of Hazzard" movie. Last month, the Mediterranean-style house the pair shared during "Newlyweds" was sold to "Malcolm in the Middle" teen actor Justin Berfield for an undisclosed price. <!--end-->
     
    Hey, women go after the earnings of men all the time. If she made $30 million last year during their marriage, she owes him some of it legally.

    Personally, I think any money this couple earned during their marriage should be donated to a charity for adult literacy.

    Seriously, I see nothing wrong in what he's doing...so many Hollywood divorces end up ugly and costly. There's no doubt that he helped her career, either directly or indirectly, knowingly or unknowingly, go farther than had it would if they didn't get married and she got all that publicity. He needs to make sure she gets absolutely shit from what he had before they got married. Now, if he starts going after half of what she made while they were married, then that's out of line.

    Agreed. He is a douchebag.

    But, he should get half of her money. If it were the other way around, and he was the one who made $30 million, it wouldn't be much of a story that she wanted half of his cash. Good for him.

    Plus, he will likely end up getting paid some serious cash to de-flower Jessica. That alone makes him kinda cool to me.

    I hope he gets her money... these two idiots are what's wrong with Hollywood... famous and rich but have no talent... they can't sing and they can't act.... I was just simply stating that he's a douche bag.

    Okay...he gets to bang jessica simpson...and then gets money for it...and you think that makes him cool? It makes him more of a bastard if you ask me

    The guy may be the biggest douchebag in the world not named LLoyd. Way the f**k up getting some on a consistant basis from Jessica Simpson.
