Jahkeem Stewart said two teams are starting to separate from his final 4 of LSU, Ohio State, Oregon and USC. This is what he had to say about Ohio State:

Coach LaAllen Clark is like my big brother,” Stewart said. “He treats me well and we are like family. Every time I go up there, I know he is going to be 100% with me. He shows me around and he really vibes with me outside of football. Coach Clark has really gotten to know me.
“Then Columbus, it’s a great city. It’s a big city. There isn’t too much to do, but there is a lot to do at the same time. It is a great place with some cajun people and there’s a lot of business opportunities out there for me. When I get back up there for my official visit, they want to show me the different opportunities and what is out there for me.

“The coaches are great too. I love it there. They know how they want to utilize me. Coach Jim Knowles is a great defensive coordinator. Coach Larry Johnson is a great defensive line coach. Ohio State is a great program they have a lot of good things going on right now. Coach Ryan Day is consistent. He has never had a losing record at Ohio State. One thing I am looking to do is win.”

Sounds like tOSU is building a bridge to this guy, and LaAllen is primary contact. After all the hubbub about the D, and specifically the DL, maybe this is the time LJ bids adieu to the Buckeyes? Based on problems between Knowles and LJ, with LJ wanting to sub in and keep players fresh, to Knowles wanting starters to play most minutes, and then berating LJ when the DL looked 'tired' (because he played his starters longer?). As per what Knowles wanted? What am I missing here? And then against PSU, saw alot of #2's on DL in, with significant success. Am I the only one confused here? Anyway, Steward would be a nice plum to have, and sounds like tOSU is preparing for any eventuality.

Former Rivals reporter predicted the departure of Zahir Mathis last week.
According to him, Ohio State already has his replacement lined up: Jahkeem Stewart.

We talked about this on Bullet Points. Expect another certain player to replace him. https://t.co/Z595IBMf8D

Carson says it's a Ohio State - Oregon battle for Stewart with OSU holding a 80%-20% advantage to this point.
Hoping he is spot on once again!

Maybe Mathis hears/feels like we're going to get Stewart, so he's searching for a quicker path to play? I know, a glass half full outlook, but why not. Losing what tOSU will lose to NFL or eligibility expiration, this year and next, Houston moving inside, Stewart might be seeing a straighter path to minutes. Oregon has been killing it on DL recruiting, so maybe they're out of Nike money. Doubt it, but hopeful. Go Bucks! PS, seems to be a trend that when one recruit de-commits, Day & Co snag another one that's higher rated....

Naw, Mathis doesn’t care about Stewart, he was always looking for the highest bidder. It’s been rumored for a while that he has been looking around, just most thought it was to Ped St due to the PA ties. OSU is in a big uphill battle with LSU, regardless of who’s the coach. LSU has always kept most of their top talent home.
